Missions at Cornerstone Community Church

Missions Philosophy

Fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ by evangelizing, discipling, planting churches, aiding in their growth and development, and relating to the whole need of mankind - spiritual and physical.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

“Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd.  Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.  Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.’” Matthew 9:36-38

Missions Committee Responsibilites

To stimulate intercessory prayer of the congregation for world evangelization and for our missionaries; educate and inspire the congregation in the field of world missions; encourage interaction between congregational members and missionaries; and develop and manage the annual missions budget.  The missions budget includes monthly support for Cornerstone Community Church missionaries, annual missions conference, short term missions and emergency funds.  Missions Committee meetings are every other month on the 2nd Sunday of the month between services in the church office building.

Criteria for Choosing Missionaries for Support

Our missionaries must be in accord with our church's doctrinal statement. Our missionaries are expected to have a healthy spiritual life.  Preference will be given to missionaries who meet the missions’ priorities of Cornerstone Community Church, namely local church planting in unreached or under-reached nations, and training of indigenous pastors.
