John Marc Wiemann, Pastor (email@example.com)
Pastor John Marc grew up in a family of eight in Silver Spring, Maryland. His triplet sisters became Christians and faithfully shared the gospel with him. In his junior year of high school, John Marc embraced Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord.
He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and was commissioned as a Naval Flight Officer in 1986. After eight years of active service, John Marc left the full-time Navy to go to seminary and prepare for pastoral ministry. He continued to fly in the Navy Reserves with Patrol Squadron 65.
He graduated from The Master”s Seminary in 1997 and served as the Associate Pastor for Adult Ministries at Faith Community Church in Santa Clarita, California for three years.
John Marc accepted the call to pastor Cornerstone Community Church in July of 2000. He is deeply committed to expository preaching, biblical counseling, and training leaders.
In July of 2006 he retired from the Navy Reserves having completed 20 years of service. John Marc and Paula have been married since 1988 and have four children.
John Marc enjoys time with his family, playing sports, outdoor activities, and being with people. His favorite verse is Psalm 16:11 “In His presence is fullness of joy.”
Dan Burleson, Pastor of Family Ministries
Dan Burleson grew up in Thousand Oaks, California. His grandparents led him to the Lord at an early age. They continued to minister to him as he grew up.
Dan graduated from the Master’s College in 1989 with a B.A. in Bible/Youth Ministries and from Talbot School of Theology in 1997 with a M.A. in Christian Education.
Dan was the Associate Pastor overseeing youth and Christian Education at Bethany Baptist Church in Thousand Oaks, CA for 10 years, Children’s Pastor at EV Free Church in Newbury Park, CA for 11 years, Associate Pastor at Sunrise Community Church and Administrator for the EFCA Southeast District Office in Atlantic Beach, Florida for 5½ years, and Children’s Pastor at First Free Church in Manchester, Missouri for 2½ years.
Dan came to Cornerstone in April 2015 as Associate Pastor. He administrates the Cornerstone Biblical Counseling Training Center, oversees our Children’s Ministries, and is helping with the transition into our new church facility.
Dan and Maria have been married since 1991 and have three children. Dan enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, working out at the gym, and watching suspenseful movies.
Dan’s favorite verse is 2 Corinthians 5:21, “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
Matt Russell, Associate Pastor
Matt Russell grew up in Ventura, California. His Christian parents faithfully led and pointed his three brothers and him to the gospel during their young lives. Early in high school, Matt read through the epistle of 1 John which the Lord used to convict him of his sin and need for salvation. It was at that time that God drew him to Himself and Matt called out to Jesus Christ to save him and rule his life.
Matt graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2013 with a B.S. in General Engineering. During his studies at Cal Poly, Matt played on the Men’s Baseball team where the Lord used that time to grow his desire for the Word of God and proclaiming the gospel on the team and in athlete Bible studies.
After graduation, in the summer of 2013, Matt and his lifelong sweetheart Michelle were married. They began attending Cornerstone Community Church where Pastor John Marc discipled Matt in his growing desire to go into ministry. In the fall of 2014, Matt and Michelle packed up and moved to attend The Master’s Seminary.
In January of 2017, Matt accepted the call to return to the Cornerstone family and serve as an Associate Pastor. He is passionate about the authority and sufficiency of Scripture in preaching, counseling, and leading young men and women to love the Lord Jesus Christ. Matt and Michelle have one son and another baby on the way.
Matt’s favorite verse is Romans 11:36, “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.”
Liesl Waldrum, Secretary
Liesl grew up in an active and loving Christian family in Lubbock, Texas. She came to faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at the age of 13. After high school she attended Lubbock Christian University.
She married Bill and moved to California shortly thereafter. Liesl obtained her California Court Reporting license in 1993 and worked as a freelance reporter until 1994. Through a sudden temporary move to Massachusetts, the Lord enabled Liesl to be a stay-at-home mom. She homeschooled her children from birth through high school and loved it. Liesl started as the secretary at Cornerstone in 2015.
Liesl and Bill have been married since 1988 and have two daughters. Spending time with family, baking, classic movies,and visiting Yosemite are Liesl’s favorite activities.
Liesl”s favorite verses are found in 1 Peter 1:3-5, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
Jen Kramer, Bookkeeper
Jen Kramer grew up in a Christian family and came to faith in Christ at an early age. She was born and raised in San Luis Obispo County and went to school at Lillian Larsen in San Miguel and Paso Robles High School.
She has been enjoying office work since she graduated from high school in 2003. She married her high school sweetheart, Eric Kramer, in 2005 and they had their first child, James, in November 2011.
Jen enjoys singing, crafting, writing, toying with graphics, and playing games with others. Her favorite verse is Romans 8:28-31 “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?”
